Liturgy
 

The Divine Office, the Official Prayer of the Church, is one that has been sung by countless Benedictine Monks and Nuns for hundreds of years from the 5th Century down to the present day and continues to be sung by the Tyburn Nuns, seven times a day.

  

Holy Mass for Tyburn Monastery Rotorua
Rev. Fr. Aidan Mulholland is the chaplain of our community. He is living on site in the Chaplains flat. The Mass times are as follows for the monastery in Rotorua only (Bombay monastery has Mass at 11.00am on Saturday and Sunday only) and any future changes will be noted here.

During the day the Sisters have Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament for as long as they are able. If you would like to take part in this adoration by yourself (for a half hour e.g.) please contact the Guest Mistress.

Meals

Main meal is at midday. Breakfast is self- serve in the mornings. Tea/coffee available any time of the day. Please try to be punctual when the meals are being served. It would be appreciated if the Spirit of Monastic Silence could be maintained, in respect of other retreatants.

Those who have special diets (gluten free, (please also indicate if you have full celiac disease) dairy free, vegetarian etc.) need to advise the monastery when booking. Main meals will be provided for them, but breakfast foods and snacks must be brought by the individual. There are fridges to keep them in if necessary.
